Carley Bean (Head of Design) :' Een van de dingen die ik altijd al leuk vond aan het Engelse landschap, zijn de kenmerkende seizoenen. De schoonheid van de natuur en de magische uitstraling van de transformatie door het jaar heen. Elk seizoen biedt zijn eigen unieke reeks van kleuren en variëteiten. Botanische ~ Botanica ~ is onze ode aan de natuur. We wilden zowel de ongrepte schoonheid van bossen, velden en weiden verkennen, als de liefde en aandacht voor tuinen'.

We hoefden niet hard te zoeken om inspiratie op te doen. De lokale bossen en jaarlijkse bloemenshows zoals Hampton Court Flower Show was een echte inspiratiebron, waar we zowel bewondering hadden voor de prachtige bloemen als de vorm en structuur van de arrangementen.

De verkenning van de flora en fauna spelen een belangrijke rol in de ontwerpgeschiedenis van Cole and Son. Zij zijn begonnen met schetsen en hebben uiteindelijk 15 unieke ontwerpen gekozen die een eerbetoon zijn aan hun Britse roots. Elk ontwerp is met de hand getekend en met de hand geschilderd voor een subliem resultaat.

Botanical ~Botanica~ is a seasonal exploration of the English landscape – from the captivating beauty of cultivated gardens, to the enchanting allure of rolling meadows and wild woodlands, this charming collection is a study in the magnificent transformation of nature throughout the seasons.

Dessins uit de collectie Botanical Botanica Cole and Son omdat verschillende dessins bloemenbehang. Luisterend naar de meest bijzondere namen: Woodland, Maidenhair, Wisteria, Topiary, Allium, Lilac, Bluebell, Thistle, Camellia, Fern, Meadow, Lilac Grandiflora, Sweet Pea, Rose en Forest.

 

‘One of the things I’ve always loved about the English landscape is its distinctive seasons. The innate beauty of nature and the magical allure of its transformation through the year. Each season offering its own unique array of colour and variety.  Botanical ~Botanica~ is our ode to nature. We wanted to explore both the unkept beauty of forests, fields and meadows, as well as the love and attention given to cultivated gardens. 

We didn’t have to look hard to find inspiration; from local forests and woodlands to annual flower shows such as Hampton Court Flower Show where we were as much in awe of the magnificent blooms as we were of the form and structure of their arrangements, to our own vast design archive, with the exploration of flora and fauna playing a major part in our design history. We started sketching, finally deciding upon 15 unique designs paying homage to our British roots. Each design was hand-drawn and hand-painted to scale capturing the inherent beauty of the subject itself.’
