Martin follows the tradition of Orientalism rooted in the end of the 19th Century. In the middle of Romanticism British and German travellers used to bring home decorative motifs that became elements of their new exotic interiors like fumoir and Turkish rooms. This motif was embellished with shimmering gold and silver, reminiscent of that period, mixing metallic shades with vibrant colours.
